Position description:

The Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) seeks applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor.  This is a non-tenure track, nine-month appointment, which will support undergraduate and graduate programs in Personal Financial Planning (PFP).

responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for teaching courses focused on Employee Benefits and Retirement Planning, Estate and Gift Planning, Tax Planning, and other courses delivered via traditional classroom and/or online formats. An important aspect of this position is preparing students to meet the education requirement to sit for the national CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Other teaching, undergraduate/graduate advising and/or service responsibilities may be assigned in place of the above should our needs change.


minimum qualifications:
  • A Masters degree in Financial Planning or a related field
     

Candidates will be evaluated on:

•    Highest degree earned
•    CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificate status
•    Qualifications to teach the above-described courses.
•    Experience working with undergraduate students in a learning and mentoring environment.
•    Experience with e-learning and technology-related educational innovation.
•    Experience working with undergraduates and graduates for advising, recruitment, and industry connections.
