START A JunioR MANRRS CHAPTER

MANRRS promotes collaboration between its students, professional members, and other organizations and institutions while preparing youth for leadership roles through Mentoring, networking, and career development training, research competitions and the free exchange of ideas among members. 

For chapter advisors, MANRRS offers professional development, networking, and free exchange of ideas amongst professional members.

Membership is open to anyone with a vital interest in promoting diversity and inclusion in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences.

HOW DOES IT PREPARE STUDENTS
FOR THE FUTURE?

  • Provides students with access to 60+ chapters at colleges and universities that provide agricultural and related sciences majors
  • Encourages and supports parental commitment to children’s education
  • Provides leadership and professional development skills, such as dressing for success, interviewing skills, writing resumes, learning proper business etiquette, completing college applications and essays, and networking opportunities
  • College Admissions Preparation: obtain materials to prepare you for the SAT and ACT, and receive college application information, including how to get into college, financial aid information, etc.
  • Opportunities to be mentored and/or tutored by college students or professionals currently working in a STEAM field
  • John Deere Scholarships and Awards: Awarded to Junior MANRRS members in high school who have excelled academically and expressed an interest in pursuing a career in agriculture and related fields
  • Discount registrations for conferences and events, including the Annual Conference held each March, which offers innovative programming designed to expose youth to STEAM
  • Improves leadership development skills by serving in many chapters and some regional leadership roles
  • Opportunities to meet other Junior MANRRS members, collegiate members, and alumni members from around the country

STARTING A CHAPTER

STEPS TO TAKE

1. Fill out the chapter interest form.

2. Review follow up email for more details and further instructions.

3. After receiving follow up email and taking necessary steps to establishing your chapter, you will then complete the chapter application form. 

  • Chapter advisor(s), officers, and bylaws will be required to complete this form.

  • Those interested in starting a Junior MANRRS chapters will receive next steps from the Junior MANRRS Coordinator, Mr. Ian Smith (ian.smith@manrrs.org)
