Position Title:
University of Missouri (MU) Teaching Position
Position Overview:
This is a non-tenure-track position 9-month appointment in the School of Natural Resources (SNR) at the University of Missouri (MU), Columbia.
Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses such as:

Personnel Management and Leadership

Ethics and Diversity
-
Park and Sport Facility Operations
-
Private and Commercial Recreation and Sport

Introduction to Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities

Finance of Sport, Tourism, and Leisure Services

Introduction to Sport, Recreation, and Tourism

Methods in Research and Evaluation;
As well as the opportunity to teach a specialty graduate level courses (total of 8 courses per year), along with advising and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. The position will strengthen the education program by teaching across degree emphasis areas to engage students understanding in the field of leisure.
Starting Date: January 1, 2024, or as negotiated
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Leisure, Recreation, Sport or a closely related discipline.
Candidates will be evaluated on: Degrees earned. Expertise in outdoor recreation, recreation, sport, and/or tourism. Teaching credentials, interpersonal communication skills, and a collaborative approach to program development and classroom instruction. Teaching record, hands-on learning experiences, experience in current education technologies, and/or connections to the Parks, Recreation, Sport, and Tourism industries. Curricular expertise in two or more of the following: outdoor recreation management, recreation administration, sport management, tourism, youth development, or leisure behavior will receive special consideration.
