Position Summary
The incumbent of this position will function as a Research Leader, managing a Research Unit of 13 scientists and will also conduct research to develop crop, pasture, animal, or watershed management systems that ensure profitable and productive farming enterprises while conserving environmental resources.


The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Pasture Systems and Watershed Management Research Unit located in University Park, Pennsylvania, is seeking a permanent full-time Supervisory Research Agronomist/Soil Scientist/Agricultural Engineer. The salary for this position is $108,885.00-$166,502.00 per year plus benefits. U.S. citizenship is
required. The incumbent of this position will function as a Research Leader, managing a Research Unit of 13 scientists and will also conduct research to develop crop, pasture, animal, or watershed management systems that ensure profitable and productive farming enterprises while conserving environmental resources. The ideal candidate has national expertise in developing
farming practices that minimize losses of agricultural nutrients, greenhouse gases, or contaminants.
