Channel Marketing Manager - NA Seeds

Position Summary:

At BASF, the world’s leading chemical company, we have an immediate need for a Channel Marketing Manager to lead near and long-term channel strategy for the US Seeds organization, including developing a clear business plan, establishing targeted retail accounts, identification and tracking of plan metrics, financial objectives, and implementation of strategies and tactics with sales, agronomic services, marketing, and senior management.

 

Formula for Success

● Leading retailer and grower segmentation efforts for US seed business.

● Monitoring and analyzing market and customer dynamics and their impacts to the established market strategy.

● Providing strategic direction to sales and overseeing tactical deployment.

● Developing data visualization tools and resources to be utilized by key group stakeholders.

● Managing relationships with external stakeholders to execute engagement plans with key customers to drive business growth.

● Leading the development and updating of go-to-market concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for lead market segments and preparing project plans for approval.

● Evaluating, negotiating, and implementing specific 3rd party opportunities.

● Bringing strong Excel and data mining skills with the ability to analyze data and providing internal stakeholders recommendations based on the data.

● Supporting other members of the sales & marketing team to help ensure that company sales and financial goals are achieved. Participating in the development and implementation of industry insights and messages that are impactful for the BASF organization in identifying market and sales opportunities for BASF products. Utilize your BS in business, agronomy or related field + 7 years’ work experience or MBA/MS + 5 years’ work experience.

● Five years combined marketing, sales, business development and/or technical support experience, to include sales and marketing experience.

● Experienced with the seed industry and familiarity market trends.

● Business acumen and ability to strategically analyze global reaching factors and summarize into concise, creative business plans to reach financial goals.

● Willingness and ability to travel 25%, primarily domestically.
