Position Summary:
Oregon State University Division of Extension and Engagement, Crop and Soil Sciences – Extension Field Facility invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice based at the OSU Extension Service Crook County office in Prineville, OR. This is a 12-month, full-time, fixed-term (annual reappointment) position that will serve the three-county Central Oregon Region and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. The academic home is the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University. Active contributions to scholarship are required.
The position will support agricultural crop management throughout Central Oregon, with an emphasis on
  • water-efficient farming practices for cereal and forage and pasture production
  • healthy soil and water quality
  • greenhouse management
  • and integrated pest management.
 
The mission of the Extension Agriculture Program is to deliver research-based, objective, informal education to help Oregonians solve problems, develop leadership, and manage resources wisely.
 
As a land grant institution committed to teaching, research, and extension and engagement, OSU promotes economic, social, cultural, and environmental progress for the people of Oregon, the nation, and the world. This position contributes to the mission of the College of Agricultural Sciences, with principal responsibility for Extension program needs assessment, development, delivery, and evaluation, and for conducting applied research to support Extension activities.
