Position Summary  
Are you passionate about trees and leading a team of arboriculture professionals? Are you interested in building a comprehensive tree maintenance program to care for and protect the urban forest? The City of Portland Parks & Recreation, Urban Forestry Division (Urban Forestry) is seeking a strategic and visionary Tree Maintenance Operations Manager to join the team.
The Tree Maintenance Operations Manager directs and leads a comprehensive municipal tree care and maintenance program. This position plays a critical role in establishing and implementing goals, objectives, and organization culture to continually drive performance and results.  The Tree Maintenance Operations Manager is a key leader of Portland’s urban forestry program.
The Tree Maintenance Operations Manager’s responsibilities encompass leading the City’s 24/7 tree emergencies response system, programs to care for trees on City-owned and managed lands at all life stages, and the Urban Forestry Operations Team including tree workers, climbing arborists, heavy equipment operators, and program coordination and administrative staff. The incumbent regularly interfaces with members of the public and City employees. This is a high-energy, forward-facing role that requires the consistent and timely delivery of communications, professionalism, and technical expertise.
