Position Summary

Sustainable Conservation’s priorities include improving California’s water supply availability and quality. One of our areas of focus involves promoting and implementing

groundwater recharge, which is the act of spreading excess surface water (e.g., storm water)

onto land to percolate into the soil and replenish aquifers. We believe recharge can be a powerful

tool to help achieve groundwater sustainability while incorporating interrelated benefits

for communities, farmers, and the environment.
Due to the growing interest in groundwater recharge and our expanding work in this field, we are currently
seeking to add a Data and Science Communication Specialist to our team. The ideal candidate will have a
passion for working with data, should be well versed with various techniques for data analysis and
organization, and possess a talent for data visualization to enhance accessibility and visual impact.
The Data and Science Communication Specialist will be an essential member of Sustainable Conservation’s
multi-disciplinary Water Recharge Team. This team member will be responsible for collecting, compiling,
and manipulating new and existing data using Excel and GIS, taking into consideration our commitment
to agronomic, environmental, and community priorities. Sustainable Conservation highly values collaboration.

In alignment with our core values, this position will be working in close collaboration with other team members. This position will report to the Project Manager.
