Equitable Energy Transition Advisor



Position Summary
The Nature Conservancy’s Renewable Energy Transition strategy is working to accelerate a clean, green, and equitable energy future. Mitigating climate change requires a rapid, massive buildout of renewable energy infrastructure to achieve net-zero emissions goals. Such a comprehensive energy transition requires a smart buildout—one that supports goals for the climate, conservation, and communities.
The Equitable Energy Transition Advisor supports strategies for accelerating an equitable transition to renewable energy to meet the Conservancy’s 2030 goals. They advise global, regional, and project teams on DEIJ principles, processes, and practices, design strategies, build and strengthen capacity for implementation, and support tracking of progress. They play a lead role in engaging key partners and organizations working for an equitable energy transition and build relationships and collaborative initiatives.
What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in the climate, energy, or conservation sector.
• Experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives in a cross-functional and matrixed environment.
• Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies.
• Experience evaluating information from divergent sources and compiling it into cohesive reports and recommendations for strategy and action.
• Ability to communicate clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

• Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
• 7-10 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience, coursework, or other training related to business, governmental, and/or climate and environmental policy and practices pertaining to the renewable energy sector and an equitable transition.
• Experience building networks, managing partnerships, facilitating informational sessions, and supporting knowledge sharing.
• Experience with community outreach and best practices for community engagement.
• Experience receiving stakeholder input, developing strategies, and implementing plans.
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and consensus building experience.
• Knowledge of current trends and practices in relevant discipline(s) and regions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time sensitive deadlines.
