The Department of Nutritional Sciences in CALS and Cooperative Extension in ALVSCE at the University of Arizona welcomes applicants for a continuing-track (tenure-track equivalent) Associate Specialist or Specialist (90% Extension/10% Service FTE) to begin in Fall 2022 or sooner. Duties & Responsibilities |
The incumbent will be responsible for leadership, strategic planning, and oversight of statewide nutrition and physical activity programs including, but not limited to, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) delivered statewide through the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. This position will serve as a representative of these programs and other programs, and may sit on state and national boards related to SNAP-Ed, EFNEP and nutrition and physical activity programming. The incumbent is expected to produce scholarly works collaboratively with faculty in Extension, other departments at the University of Arizona, colleagues in state and federal agencies, and other universities nationwide. We are seeking candidates who contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the university. Other responsibilities include:

Preferred Qualifications | ● Experience working in under-resourced communities and diverse populations. ● Experience with SNAP-Ed and/or EFNEP. ● Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required. ● RDN credential, or broad experience in nutrition education. ● Experience with public health approaches including policy, systems, and environment changes, and trauma-informed nutrition implementation. ● Experience with Cooperative Extension. |
