Livestock and Natural Resources Area Advisor

Position Summary
The Livestock and Natural Resources Area Advisor will implement an innovative extension education and applied research program to address issues related to livestock production and marketing.
Research and extension will address high-priority issues related to livestock production systems and marketing with attention paid to livestock and range management impacts on water quality and quantity as well as pursuing strategies to reduce the carbon impact of livestock management. Specifically, the advisor will address production, animal health, food safety, meat processing and marketing, water quality, soil quality, and ecosystem health. Species that will be emphasized will be cattle, sheep, goats, and small-scale poultry.
 
Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree in in animal science, range management or closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
 
Salary: The beginning salary will be in the Cooperative Extension Assistant Advisor Rank and commensurate with applicable experience and professional qualifications.
