Community Nutrition and Health Advisor
Position Summary:
The Community Nutrition and Health Advisor will implement an innovative extension education and applied research program to build healthy communities and engage community members in solving local nutrition and health needs. The Advisor will play a critical role in working with agencies and organizations to support policy, systems, and environmental changes that promote health and support long-term sustainability of community health. Potential research and extension areas include chronic disease prevention, nutrition security, food literacy, healthy living, consumer education, financial literacy and social determinants of health. Example interventions to address issues related to food systems, food security, and/or built environment might include community gardens, school/worksite health and wellness policies, and farm-to-school programming.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Nutrition, Health Education, Human Development, or closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment.Salary
$68,400-90,300/year
