University of Illinois Seeks Field Crops Extension Plant Pathologist

We invite outstanding scientists to apply for this position, which merges applied research with scientific communication in plant pathology to sustainably improve field crop disease management in Illinois and the surrounding region. We are seeking candidates with a proven ability to use innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to conduct high-impact applied research and extension in field crop plant pathology.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in scientific communication, and will be expected to develop an Extension program that engages with and informs stakeholders in the ~22 million acres of corn, soybean, and small grains produced in Illinois each year. The incumbent will also be expected to make contributions in plant pathology instruction important to our undergraduate and graduate degree programs through traditional and/or non-traditional instruction, graduate student mentorship, and advisory committee service.
