Position Summary
The incumbent is a Research Geneticist and Lead Scientist in the USDA-ARS Plant Science Research Unit, located at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN. The research project focuses on wheat and oat improvement using genetic and genomic approaches, which is a component of Plant Genetic Resources, Genomics and Genetic Improvement.
 
The incumbent also serves as the coordinator of the USDA-ARS Cooperative Hard Red Spring Wheat Uniform Regional Performance Nursery program and Uniform Regional Scab (Fusarium head blight) Nursery. The incumbent is responsible for devising, planning, conducting, and reporting research completed under the research project. Evaluates and recommends, with Research Leader and Office of National Programs concurrence, changes to the projects prepares annual reports provides technical information and consultation pertaining to assigned projects within ARS and with collaborators in universities, private foundations, and industry and ensures that human, fiscal, and physical resources assigned to the projects are utilized as planned.
