The Department of Ecology, Evolution & Organismal Biology (EEOB) seeks an aquatic ecologist/limnologist specializing in any aspect of the ecology of freshwater lakes. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the growth of aquatic sciences at ISU, through original research and undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidate will establish an externally funded research program in limnology and aquatic ecology, including work in Iowa lakes, and will contribute to ongoing partnerships with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Opportunities exist for collaboration with a large assemblage of ISU scientists involved in research on water and environmental resources and with the Iowa Nutrient Research Center, the Iowa Water Center, and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, all located at ISU in Ames, IA. This is a tenure-track position in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the rank of assistant professor.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or equivalent in ecology, environmental science, limnology, aquatic biology, or related fields.
• Publications in nationally or internationally recognized journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to conduct impactful research
• Research experience and interests in limnology and aquatic ecology applicable to Iowa lakes
• Ability to provide effective teaching and student learning
• Ability and commitment to contribute to the Department and University’s efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)
