Purdue University Seeks Senior Administrative Assistant


· Support the Assistant Director for Academic Excellence & Transformational Education
· Support the Assistant Director for Transfer & Pathway Programs
· Plan, coordinate, and provide logistical support for events and programs, including promoting events, tracking attendance, reserving space, ordering catering, arranging travel, coordinating with vendors, etc. as needed
· Create and maintain promotional communications for student engagement, such as the weekly student newsletter, social media posts/oversight, flyers, emails, memos, etc. consistent with Purdue brand requirements
· Write or help prepare agendas, presentations, promotional copy, meeting notes, or other communications within and external to the College of Agriculture
· Maintain and update website content for web pages related to position
· Assist with the collection of student data and prepare data reports as assigned
· Arrange travel for Assistant Directors upon request; reconcile travel expenses using Concur
· Maintain awareness of fiscal procedures; track and record expenses
· Collaborate with individuals within department, College, and University for various events, programs, initiatives, etc.
· Identify, recommend, and execute procedural improvements related to position or department
· Provide feedback or input on applications, nominations, or other materials as needed
· Provide backup coverage for the front desk; backup other support staff positions as needed
· Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean & Director of Academic Program
Required
· High school diploma/GED
· 3 years of experience in an administrative support role
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
· Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
· Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
· Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
· Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
· Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
· Drafting, proofreading and editing skills
