Position Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven organization with a passion for protecting lands that contribute to Sonoma County’s scenic beauty, local agriculture, native habitats, recreational lands and promoting equity among local tribes, BIPOC communities, and other historically excluded groups. This position is eligible for up to 60% remote work.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Stewardship Assistant will be focused on conservation easement stewardship, and may include serving as lead on easement monitoring projects, assisting with the training and oversight of Stewardship Technicians, and assisting with easement baseline documents, permitted use requests, amendment requests, and enforcement matters. On occasion, duties may include completion of resource management and infrastructure maintenance projects on Ag + Open Space owned properties. Duties may also include preparation and presentation of staff reports to a variety of audiences, including oversight bodies and the Ag + Open Space Board of Directors.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and work experience which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed herein. Normally, this would include a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with coursework in planning, geography, environmental studies, ecology, resource management, landscape architecture, or other related fields, and one year of experience in conservation planning, parks, resource management, land use, or another related field. Coursework or experience with GIS and experience with a public agency or nonprofit land trust are desirable.

Compensation/Salary

$87,241.62 - 106,025.10 annually
