Position Overview

Work to provide local as well as statewide leadership and educational programming expertise in dairy production and management. Michigan’s dairy industry leads our state in economic impact, generating 1.8 billion dollars in cash receipts, jobs, infrastructure, food security, and local impact, while staying among the national leaders in milk quality and production efficiency.

You will have regional and statewide responsibilities and will collaborate across work teams, Institutes, and community groups, working with faculty, specialists, and educators for overall advancement of the needs of the Institute clientele. You will work to develop, produce, and deliver dairy outreach materials with messaging and content that is accessible and is consistent with the Agriculture and Agribusiness Institute Animal Agriculture Work Team messaging.

Through your leadership, you will provide support to dairy farmers and agribusiness in eastern Michigan in the “Thumb” region, which includes Huron and Tuscola counties with Huron County being the largest dairy county in Michigan. You will work with producers and allied industry to improve the sustainability of the dairy industry.

Although negotiable, there will be space available for this position to work from the Huron County MSU Extension office in Bad Axe, Michigan.

This position may be eligible to utilize a flexible work environment, however, there is an expectation to work from a MSU Extension County office. The needs, responsibilities, and opportunities of an individual’s position and office location drive the ability and amount of work-location flexibility.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (see full description for complete list of requirements): 
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to Dairy or Animal Science or related field must be earned by date of hire.

Masters

Compensation/Salary

Commensurate with education and experience.
