Controller
Position Overview
The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, capable of establishing systems and processes to meet deadlines, process strong decision-making and analytical skills, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Financial Activities: • Maintain accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions • Maintain and reconcile all reimbursable contracts • Manage all restricted grants • Analyze and prepare monthly financial statements for Executive Director and Board of Directors • Lead the preparation of the annual operating budget and audit Operational Management: • Support decision-making through data analysis and cost-benefit evaluations • Provide timely financial information to all levels of the organization • Assist in the preparation of new development related grant applications • Contribute to special projects as needed to support organizational goals Skills and Competencies • Proven ability to manage complex financial projects and prioritize multiple tasks • Strong proficiency in financial software such as Quickbooks, Excel, Fathom, etc. • Excellent communication skills with ability to present financial data to senior staff and Board • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field;Master’s or CPA preferred • At least 5-7 years of experience in a progressive financial role non-profit setting • Grant Management experience, Expertise in GAAP, nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and reporting

ACCD offers a highly competitive compensation package and a motivated, employee-centered workplace. Beyond salary, compensation includes a 3% Simple IRA match, health insurance with family coverage, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid sick, and a generous paid holiday and vacation package in accordance with the ACCD Employee Manual. The salary range is $90,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience.
