Position Title:

Extension Associate

 

Position Summary:
The Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences is currently seeking an Extension Associate to assist with the development and implementation of statewide Extension programs including Sustainable Agricultural Research and Development (SARE) programming and livestock Extension programs for youth and producer audiences. The Department currently houses approximately 420 undergraduate students, 35 graduate students, and 20 faculty, both on the main campus and at Research and Extension Centers throughout Mississippi. Extension programs include dairy, beef, equine, sheep, goats, swine, and youth livestock.
 
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include educational programming in animal agriculture providing educational opportunities and activities including SARE programming and support of statewide Extension programs led by Extension faculty within the Department. The incumbent will organize meetings, lead and assist in trainings, and prepare and disseminate outreach materials, Extension publications, and technical reports. Excellent interpersonal communication is essential. The Extension Associate will support MSU Extension’s diversity and AA/EEO commitments.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Animal and Dairy Sciences is required. Extension, applied research, outreach, or educational experience are preferred.
