Who we are:
The Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) is a non-regulatory state agency that supports Washington’s 45 conservation districts and designs solutions that meet state and local natural resource needs. Our mission is to conserve natural resources on all lands in Washington in collaboration with conservation districts and other partners.
 
Together, the SCC and conservation districts provide voluntary, incentive-based programs that empower people to practice conservation and ensure healthy natural resources and agriculture for all.
 
The SCC also administers other high-profile and non-regulatory state programs, including the Voluntary Stewardship Program, Office of Farmland Preservation, and the newly created Sustainable Farms and Fields Program.
 
 
What you will be doing:
This position plays a key role in painting a picture of the important work of the SCC and Washington’s 45 conservation districts. You will aid in the production of communications and marketing materials in support of agency programs, ensuring consistency with the agency’s vision, mission, and branding. You will report to and provide expert counsel to SCC’s Communications Director and provide administrative support and communications acumen on critical issues for the agency and is vital in ensuring consistent communication with the key partners, stakeholders, customers, the public and the media about the agency’s roles, decision-making, and accomplishments.
 
In addition, you will be helping to set the strategic direction for SCC regarding communications, marketing, and customer satisfaction initiatives to position the department to meet short and long-term goals. Working with the Communications Director, you will help develop agency policy and strategic plans that provide direction to agency personnel to support effective internal, external, and persuasive communications to the diverse customers and stakeholders of the agency.
