Mississippi State University seeks Assistant Dairy Herder
Position Title: 
Assistant Herder
 
 
Position Summary:
The Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences is currently seeking an Assistant Herder at our dairy to assist in the research management and production operations of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES) Bearden Dairy Research Center.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in animal or dairy science or a closely related field and a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates with dairy cattle production and farm equipment operational experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

Frequent heavy or intense physical requirements, combined with exposure to a number of disagreeable elements, such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals. Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Job occasionally requires sitting, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
