Position Title: 

Manager of Trade Policy

 

Position Summary:
International market development organization based in Washington, D.C. is recruiting a manager of trade policy for its Washington, D.C. office. This position works closely with the director of trade policy to develop and implement programs focused on trade policy and market issues including biotechnology, gene editing and maximum residue levels. This position will assist USGC’s overseas offices by providing or directing staff to appropriate resources to support trade policy and market access initiatives in their geographic area. This position is based in Washington, D.C.

Desired Qualifications

Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in the fields of plant science, economics,
agriculture and/or international policy. Three years’ experience in international agriculture, trade food and/or development policy issues, with preferred experience in government, trade association and/or business role is preferred. Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Domestic and international travel are required of this position.

organizational potential. Must be a team player with exceptional collaboration and
communication skills with strong skills in prioritizing and decision making. Must also be able to quickly pivot and adapt as the organization’s strategic direction evolves.
