YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Weed Control Senior Scientist to conduct and coordinate greenhouse, growth chamber and laboratory experiments contributing to the characterization of herbicide resistance in key troublesome weeds;
  • Analyze, interpret, summarize and report the results;
  • Use predictive modeling to determine key practices that contribute to selection of herbicide resistance;
  • Help develop and evaluate new weed control product concepts;
  • Share findings and recommendations on a regular basis with the opportunity to present final findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or Ph.D. program in Weed Science, Crop Science, Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Plant Biology and/or a related agricultural discipline;
  • Strong experience in conducting research trials and following scientific procedures;
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively on cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams;
  • Strong written / oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and analyze large data sets using statistical and data analytical software;
  • Strong understanding of Weed Biology, Herbicide Physiology, Herbicides modes of action and mechanisms of herbicide weed resistance;
  • Ability to work in greenhouse environment with varied temperatures and conditions.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Digital and data science fluency with proficiency in R, Python or other high-level programing language.
